On the morning of May 29, 2026, at the Can Tho Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances, the scientific workshop "Connecting Technology Supply and Demand to Support the Development of OCOP Products and Key Agricultural Products to Meet Market Requirements" was successfully held with the participation of representatives from state management agencies, institutes, universities, enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP actors, and experts in agriculture, trade, and technology.

The workshop was one of the key activities in the event series "Connecting Technology Supply and Demand - Key Products and OCOP Products Associated with Traceability in Can Tho City in 2026". It created a forum connecting scientists, technology suppliers, producers, and management agencies to exchange and share technological solutions for developing OCOP products and key agricultural products in a modern and sustainable direction that meets increasingly high requirements of domestic and international markets.

In the context of deep economic integration, agricultural products compete not only on quality but also must meet technical standards, food safety requirements, environmental protection requirements, and traceability requirements. Therefore, applying science and technology, digital transformation, and production-process innovation is becoming a key factor in increasing added value and competitiveness for Vietnamese agricultural products.

At the workshop, delegates were updated on the latest information about export market trends for agricultural products and the technical requirements of many importing countries. International trade experts analyzed changes in regulations related to plant quarantine, quality standards, carbon emissions, environmental responsibility, and especially product traceability. These are both challenges and opportunities for enterprises and cooperatives to improve management capacity, standardize production processes, and gradually participate more deeply in global value chains.

One topic that drew strong interest from delegates was the application of digital agriculture in production management and OCOP product development. Representatives of digital agriculture solution providers introduced technology platforms that support crop-area monitoring, electronic production diary management, traceability, quality management, and supply-chain data connection. These solutions not only improve production efficiency but also contribute to building a smart, transparent, and sustainable agricultural ecosystem.

Delegates were also particularly interested in digital technology application models for raw-material area management, product quality control, and production-process optimization. Applying digital data in agricultural production was assessed as an important solution that helps enterprises and cooperatives improve productivity, reduce costs, and better meet the requirements of modern markets.

In addition, content on deep-processing and post-harvest preservation technologies for key agricultural products in the Mekong Delta provided useful information for enterprises and production facilities. Experts shared new advances in drying, freezing, concentration, extraction, fermentation, and value-added food processing to extend shelf life, reduce post-harvest losses, and increase commercial value.

Dr. Thai Phuong Vu from Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment presented many technological solutions suitable for production conditions in the Mekong Delta and emphasized the role of innovation in developing agricultural value chains toward green, circular, and climate-adaptive models.

Beyond thematic presentations, the workshop was also an opportunity for technology enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP actors, and agricultural production units to directly exchange needs, seek partners, and explore technology-transfer cooperation opportunities. Many new solutions in production management, processing, preservation, and traceability were introduced, opening up new directions for technology innovation in local agriculture.

Within the event framework, delegates also visited the display area for OCOP products, key products, and technological solutions serving agricultural production. This activity strengthened connections between technology suppliers and demand-side units, enabling enterprises and cooperatives to access suitable solutions to improve product quality and expand consumption markets.
